Mavericks guard Monta Ellis has been Western Conference Player of the Week for the games played from April 7 to April 13. In three games Monta averaged 25.7 points, 4.7 assists and 4 rebounds while leading the Mavs to a 2-1 record. He scored 37 points in Saturday's 101-98 win over Phoenix that clinched a playoff sport for Dallas.
It is the fourth Player of the Week award in Ellis' career. With Dirk Nowitzki winning Player of the Week last week, it marks the first time in franchise history the Mavericks have had back-to-back weeks where teammates received the award.
