According to both Marc Stein of ESPN.com and Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports, the Mavericks are in active discussions with the Celtics to acquire star point guard Rajon Rondo.The trade would probably include Brandan Wright, multiple draft picks including a first rounder and other cap filler. Rondo is a free agent at the end of the year but the Mavs could be given permission to try to work on a contract extenstion for Rondo.
Other teams said to be interested in trading for Rondo include Houston, New York, the Lakers and Sacramento. Time will tell if the Mavs have enough to push a trade over the finish line.
