In some very sad new, former Maverick big man Roy Tarpley has died at age 50 according to the Dallas Morning News. Tarpley was a very talented player who won the NBA Sixth Man of they Year Award in 1987-88 but his career was unfortunately derailed by drug and alcohol problems.Tarpley, the 7th overall pick in the 1986 draft played all 280 of his career games for the Mavs, before he was suspended for the league for good in 1995.
