It's finally official. Amar'e Stoudemire is a Dallas Maverick. Stoudemire signed a deal for the rest of the season for the veterans' minimum. Stoudemire was bought out of his contract with the Knicks on Sunday. He is expected to be available to play in tomorrow night's game in Oklahoma City. To make room on the roster, the Mavericks waived Ricky Ledo. Stoudemire will wear jersey number 1, the same number Ledo had.
In a statement released by the team Stoudemire said:
"I'm excited to be a part of a first-class organization. To play alongside Dirk Nowitzki, Tyson Chandler and other great players, I think it's a tremendous opportunity for me
to compete for a championship."
