Mavericks Power Ranking Roundup

Since it is Monday lets take a look at where the Mavericks rank among the various weekly NBA Power Rankings done by prominent national NBA writers. There seems to be a strong consensus of where the Mavs are relative to rest of the league.

Marc Stein- ESPN.com: 11. "The Mavs don't expect to win many games barely cracking 90 points and were doubly relieved to get out of Milwaukee with a W because road games have been such a problem, too. They know the reality: Success will mostly ride on the highs that Dirk-and-Monta-driven offense can generate."

John Schuhmann- NBA.com: 12. " It's still too early to know what to make of the Mavs. Last week, they won an offensive game, lost ugly, lost an offensive game, and won ugly. The ups and downs of Monta Ellis - 19-for-33 on Tuesday and Wednesday, 15-for-38 on Friday and Saturday - make them more unpredictable. You do have to like that he leads the league in drives per game and that he has a career-high free throw rate."

Marc J. Spears- Yahoo Sports: 13. "Newcomer Monta Ellis, not Dirk Nowitzki, is currently the Mavs' leading scorer, averaging 23 points. Nowitzki is averaging 18.1 points but just 14.2 in the past four games."

Kurt Helin- NBCsports.com: 11. " Monta Ellis is a little up and down in Dallas so far (big shock) but it should be noted is playing much more efficient basketball — his 23 points a game are coming on 47.9 percent shooting (up 6.3 percent from last season). The key is he is shooting 48.3 percent from the midrange."

Matt Moore- CBSsports.com: 10.  "Have to love what this team is giving you night to night right now, even going .500 last week. Rick Carlisle is doing his wizard thing again."
