Mavs Expected to add Nelson; Void Contract of Lewis
According to ESPN's Marc Stein the Mavericks are close to a deal with free agent point guard Jameer Nelson for their 2.7 room exception. The deal is expected to be agreed upon when Nelson visits Dallas Thursday. Nelson has spent his entire 10 year career with Orlando and averaged 12.1 points and 7 assists per game last season. He will the give the Mavs a thrird veteran point guard to go along with Devin Harris and Raymond Felton.
In other news Dallas had voided the contract of recent free agent acquisition Rashard Lewis, after it was determined that he would he need knee surgery. Lewis signed a one year deal for the veterans minimum only four days ago.
