The Mavericks made official today the signings of free agent shooting guard John Jenkins and forward/center Jarrid Famous. Both signed partially guaranteed three year deals for the minimum according to ESPN's Tim MacMahon.
Jenkins, 24 was a 2012 first round pick of the Hawks out of Vanderbilt who is best known for his outside shooting. In his three years in Atlanta, Jenkins averaged 5.6 points in 13.8 minutes per game while shooting 37.5% on threes. He shot 40.4% from deep last season.
Famous, 27 is an alum of South Florida who split time last year between the D-League (where he played 17 games for the Texas Legends) and the Philippines. He is known for his rebounding as he pulled down 14.9 boards per game in the D-League last season. Famous averaged 10.2 and 6.8 rebounds in 20.2 minutes for the Wizards summer league team.
