Mavs Trade For Zaza Pachulia
Needing a center after being spurned by DeAndre Jordan, the Mavericks were able to acquire one who started for a playoff team last year, via trade. The Mavs received veteran big man Zaza Pachulia from Milwaukee in exchange for a future second round pick. Pachulia, 31 is a native of the Republic of Georgia who has spent 12 years in the league with the Magic, Hawks and Bucks. Last year he averaged 8.3 points and 6.8 rebounds in 23.7 minutes per game for the surprising Bucks. He was also the anchor of a defense that was second the league in defensive efficiency. For his career, Pachulia has averages of 7.0 points and 5.6 rebounds in 21.0 minutes per game. He is due to make $5.25 million in the final year of his contract this year.
