Monta To Sign With Pacers
The Mavericks have lost another one of their free agents but this one was totally expected. Monta Ellis has agreed to a 4 year, 44 million dollar deal with the Indiana Pacers according to ESPN. The contract has a player option after year three. Ellis opted out of the final year of his contract with the Mavs to become a free agent. Monta averaged 19.0 points and 4.9 assists in his two years in Dallas and last year became the first Mav besides Dirk to lead the team in scoring since Michael Finley in 1999-2000. A sign and trade of Monta for Roy Hibbert could become a possibilty if the Mavericks strike out on DeAndre Jordan.
