Barea To Re-Sign With Mavs


J.J. Barea has agreed to a 2 year, $5.6 million deal to re-sign with the Mavs according to th Puerto Rican newspaper El Nuevo Dia. David Aldridge of TNT also confirmed the report. Bringing back Barea was an important signing for a Mavs team that needs point guard depth. The teams is trying to add Jeremy Lin to start at the point to go along with Barea and Devin Harris in the reserve roles they excelled in last season. Raymond Felton is still under contract but the team is trying to move his contract to create cap room. Barea averaged 7.5 points and 3.4 assists in 17.7 minutes per game in his second stint with the Mavs last season. His contract is for the team's cap room exception.
